Graphite is a naturally occurring and synthetic form of crystalline carbon used primarily as anode material in lithium‑ion batteries and in refractories, electrodes, lubricants and other industrial applications. It is a strategically important commodity for EV battery supply chains and heavy industry, and pricing is driven by grade and purity (fixed carbon content, flake size versus amorphous), processing and purification costs, energy intensity, and supply‑chain factors such as geographic concentration and demand from the battery and steel sectors.
